We work on interesting properties in places worth being, and we run organized sites where you’ll always know the scope before the job starts.
What you’ll do
- Framing, rough and finish carpentry across residential renovation scopes
- Cabinetry installation, millwork, built-ins, and trim

- Coordinating with other trades on active sites
- Maintaining a clean, organized work area throughout the project
What we’re looking for
- Red Seal Carpenter or equivalent journeyperson experience

- Valid BC driver’s licence — island ferry travel required
- Own tools
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable
Roofer
Roofer
Residential roofing on island properties — steep slopes, older structures, varied materials. The work is physical, the settings are exceptional, and we expect a high standard of installation quality on every job.
What you’ll do
- Asphalt shingle, metal panel, and torch-on flat roofing installations
- Flashing, valleys, ridges, and penetration details
- Repairs, re-roofs, and overlay assessments
- Identifying and reporting substrate issues before they become callbacks
- Safe operation on steep-slope and multi-storey structures
- Documenting completed work with photos for project records
What we’re looking for
- BC Roofer ticket preferred; solid journeyperson experience considered
- Minimum 3 years residential roofing experience
- Fall protection training (Working at Heights)
- Valid BC driver’s licence — ferry travel between islands required
- Comfortable working on heritage and custom residential structures
- Own tools; safety equipment provided
Site Worker / Labourer
Site Worker / Labourer
Entry point into the trades on active renovation and roofing sites. You’ll work alongside journeypersons, learn how a properly run job site operates, and build skills that translate to a long career in construction.
What you’ll do
- Demolition, debris removal, and site preparation
- Material handling — loading, staging, and delivering to work areas
- Assisting journeypersons with carpentry and roofing tasks
- Maintaining clean, safe site conditions throughout the day
- Tool and equipment care and end-of-day site tidy
What we’re looking for
- No formal experience required — attitude and reliability matter most
- Valid BC driver’s licence required
- Physically fit and comfortable with outdoor, manual work
- Punctual and consistent — island schedules depend on ferry timing
- Willingness to learn and follow direction on site
Administration
Administration
The administrative backbone of an active renovation and roofing operation. You’ll manage client communications, track project milestones, handle invoicing, and keep the back office running so the field team can focus on the work. Construction experience is an asset — you need to understand what’s happening on site to communicate it clearly.
What you’ll do
- Client-facing communications — inquiry responses, scheduling, follow-ups
- Invoice preparation, payment tracking, and accounts receivable follow-up
- Coordinating subcontractor scheduling and site logistics
- Maintaining project files, contracts, and change order records
- Supporting estimating with material research and supplier quotes
- Managing office systems — email, calendar, document management
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years office administration experience; construction background preferred
- Strong written communication — you’ll be the first voice clients hear
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities without dropping details
- Proficiency with standard office tools (email, spreadsheets, cloud docs)
- Experience with invoicing or bookkeeping software is an asset
- Discreet, professional, and calm under pressure
Estimator
Estimator
Estimating is where a renovation project either gets set up for success or doesn’t. You’ll produce detailed, written estimates for residential renovation and roofing scopes — working from drawings, site measurements, and direct client conversations. You need to know how a job goes together in the field, because your numbers have to survive contact with reality. Compensation is a $58,000–$78,000/yr base plus 2–3% commission on awarded project value plus a $2,500 quarterly close-rate bonus. Strong estimators in this role clear $110,000–$140,000+ in total compensation.
What you’ll do
- Full quantity takeoffs from architectural drawings and site surveys
- Material pricing from local and regional suppliers
- Labour hour assembly for carpentry, roofing, and subtrade scopes
- Producing clear, itemized written estimates for client review
- Managing change orders and scope adjustments through the project lifecycle
- Supporting project managers with budget tracking and cost-to-complete reviews
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years residential construction estimating experience
- Ability to read architectural and structural drawings accurately
- Field experience in carpentry, roofing, or general contracting — strongly preferred
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to deliver estimates on deadline
- Familiarity with BC material costs and local supplier networks
- Experience with estimating software is an asset; Excel proficiency required
Project Manager
Project Manager
One contact. One accountable person. That’s how GRR operates, and the project manager is that person for every job in their portfolio. You’ll carry the scope from signed contract to final walkthrough — coordinating trades, managing client expectations, solving field problems before they become issues, and delivering on the written commitments we make to every client. Compensation is a $65,000–$85,000/yr base plus 1.5–2.5% profit-share on projects delivered on-time and on-budget. Strong PMs in this role earn $95,000–$115,000 in total compensation.
What you’ll do
- End-to-end project delivery from contract execution to occupancy
- Subtrade scheduling, coordination, and quality oversight
- Client communication — progress updates, scope changes, and issue resolution
- Managing project budgets and change orders against original estimates
- Site visits, inspections, and deficiency management
- Maintaining project documentation — contracts, RFIs, change orders, and closeout records
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years residential construction project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Strong client communication skills — written and verbal
- Experience managing subtrades and holding them to scope and schedule
- Valid BC driver’s licence — regular travel to island project sites required
- PMP designation or equivalent field experience considered
