Three Commitments on Every Project

Every decision we make — how we communicate, how we quote, how we build — comes back to these three.

Craftsmanship

Every job is prepped correctly before any material goes in. We don't rush sequencing, skip steps to save time, or hand off quality control to whoever is on site that day. Our name is on the work — and we intend to keep our reputation.

Subfloor prep before flooring. WRB before siding. Right sequence, every time.
Materials specified for the site conditions — not the cheapest option available
10-year workmanship warranty on roofing — 2-year standard on renovations, optional 5-year upgrade available — both in writing

Clarity

The estimate you receive is itemized — you can see exactly what you're paying for. If site conditions change the scope, you get a written change order before we touch anything new. The final invoice matches the agreed number. No exceptions.

Line-item estimates — you see exactly what's included
No scope expansion without a signed change order
One contact. Not a rotating cast of subs.

Care

We work in occupied homes. Tools are put away. Site is swept. If we're going to be delayed, you hear about it before the day we don't show up — not after. That's not a courtesy, it's how a job should run.

Site cleaned at end of every workday
Schedule changes communicated before they happen
Final walkthrough — you sign off when you're satisfied
Services

What We Handle

Roofing, structural framing, rough-in carpentry, exterior envelope, renovations, decks, flooring, and finish work. One team coordinates the full scope from structure to surface — you're not managing a different contractor for every phase.

Roofing & Exterior

New roofs on builds and additions. Full reroofs in asphalt, standing seam, synthetic tile, and torch-on. Siding, soffit, and fascia. Written estimate, no surprise material charges.

Kitchen Renovations

Cabinetry, countertops, plumbing rough-in, tile, and finish carpentry. We manage the trade sequencing — you don't have to coordinate six contractors yourself.

Bathroom Renovations

Waterproofing done correctly, tile work done properly, and trades sequenced so one doesn't undo what another just finished.

Decks & Outdoor

Framing sized for the load, footings set to depth, materials specified for coastal exposure. A deck built to code and built to outlast the seasons.

Carpentry

Structural framing, rough-in carpentry, finish trim, stairs, built-ins, and custom work — custom doors, gable hatches, cedar shake inlays. Rough-in is sequenced and confirmed before adjacent trades proceed.

Our Process

How Every Project Runs

Most renovation problems aren't craft problems — they're communication problems. Scope that wasn't defined. Changes that weren't documented. Costs that appeared at the end. Every GRR project follows the same five steps to prevent exactly that.

Consultation

We visit the property, assess site conditions, and document what we find. You get a honest read on scope — including what might be hidden — before the estimate is written.

Scope & Estimate

You receive a written, itemized estimate with a clear breakdown of labour, materials, and any trade coordination. No lump sums. No vague line items.

Scheduling

Start date, material lead times, and trade coordination are confirmed in writing before mobilization. No ambiguity about when work begins or how long it runs.

Construction

We show up on scheduled days. If site conditions change the scope, you receive a written change order before work proceeds. Site is left clean at the end of each day.

Completion & Walkthrough

You walk the completed work with us before the job is closed. Any items that don't meet the agreed standard are addressed before final payment is due.

Get a written estimate before you commit to anything.

We'll visit the property, assess the scope, and provide a clear itemized estimate before any work is agreed to.

What Clients Say

In Their Words

★★★★★

"The estimate was itemized — I could see every line. The number on the final invoice matched exactly. In 20 years of owning property, that doesn't happen as often as it should."

Elizabeth L. Salt Spring Island
★★★★★

"A roofing and siding job at the same time — I was bracing for chaos. They managed the sequencing so nothing got damaged and both systems were finished clean. Showed up every day they said they would."

Jackie T. Cowichan Valley
★★★★★

"They found rot behind the siding during demo. Stopped, photographed it, sent me a written scope before touching anything else. Other contractors I've used would have fixed it and added $3,000 to the invoice."
